EDUAN’S MAGIC BRUSH
Helping a child cope with the loss of a parent at a young age

This is the true story of a six-year-old boy whose daddy suddenly died. His loss took him into very dark emotions and he battled to continue with his life.
Through his “magic brush”, art therapy changed his life. After each session he rediscovered himself, faced his loss and emotions and in the end he found himself, and hope for the future.
Because childhood grief and development are interdependent, the early death of a parent is the most elemental loss a child can experience and it affects his or her development.
Creating art allows us to experience, understand and accept loss. Art techniques can hasten the grieving process, promote coping skills, honour what has been lost and promote the expression of feelings.
This book can also be used with children that experienced other forms of loss.
